Dr. David D. Godwin is a licensed chiropractic physician who serves Salisbury, NC and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Godwin is a native of Salisbury having graduated from West Rowan High School and Catawba College where he received a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biology. He then attended the University of S.C. where he pursued a PhD in Biochemistry before going to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, MO. Upon graduation he began practicing in Canaan, CT where he was the director of the Canaan Healing Arts Center with an emphasis on nutrition and well being for 25 years. He has post graduate training in manipulation under anesthesia, nutrition, rehabilitation, impairment rating, radiology and neurology. While practicing in Connecticut he enjoyed a close working relationship with the medical community including Dr. Peter Gott, who was well known for his nationally syndicated medical advice column, Ask Dr. Gott, as seen in the Salisbury Post.
Dr. Godwin uses his knowledge and training in chiropractic to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning. Dr. Godwin takes a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and Dr. Godwin will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs.
